COMMON QUERIES

Many individuals who engage psychological services share common questions and concerns, some of which we have listed below. If you have any questions or concerns that are not listed below, please feel free to contact the practice.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL TREATMENT?

The aim of any psychological treatment is to help improve your mental health and well-being, by improving your understanding of yourself. Sometimes this means discussing or confronting fearful events and painful memories. Many people find this uncomfortable at first, so it is very important that you are open and honest with your psychologist and let them know exactly how you are feeling. This will ensure the best possible benefit from treatment.

HOW LONG IS EACH SESSION AND HOW MANY SESSIONS SHOULD I HAVE?

The number and duration of your sessions will depend on your circumstances, so there isn't always a set time or number. However, consultations will generally last for either 30 or 55 minutes and will be tailored to your needs. In certain cases, a 'double-consultation' may be requested, lasting between 1.5 - 2 hours.

IS MY INFORMATION CONFIDENTIAL?
